Joseph B. Lovett

Joseph Lovett attended Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, FL, where he obtained a degree in civil engineering in 1974. Following his graduation from FAMU, he was afforded the opportunity to join Westinghouse Electric Corporation as a design engineer in Columbus, Ohio. Throughout his career, he has worked for General Electric Corporation, serving as a lead technical sales engineer, and Siemens Industry Corporation. At Siemens Industry, he performed in various capacities to include regional sales manager and National Director of Construction, Sales, and Marketing; and he was influential in the development of the Total Integrative Power (TIP) Solutions established by Siemens Germany. His 27-year career ended at Siemens Industry as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Sales Manager. He is currently serving as a Business Development executive for Ideal Electrical Supply Corporation in Washington, DC.
Joseph is a 1973 initiate of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., and a Past Polemarch (President) of the Hyattsville/Landover (MD) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha psi. Following his term as Polemarch, he was appointed to be the first President and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Kappa Foundation of Prince George’s County, Inc. As President, his mission is to build the financial, organizational, and operational capacity of the Foundation to maintain a strong endowment and to provide services to the Prince George’s County community. He believes, “We need to enhance the Foundation’s ability to apply for grants and to secure corporate donations to fulfill our philanthropic goals.”
