Anthony D. Mayo graduated from Wilberforce University in 1977 where he majored in Political Science/Economics. In 1975, he was initiated in the Delta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc., and served as Polemarch during the 1976-1977 academic year. While at Wilberforce University, he was inducted into “Who’s Who Among Students at American Universities and Colleges”. He received a Juris Doctorate degree from Howard University’s School of Law in 1980 where he participated in a civil litigation clinic representing indigent defendants in small claims and landlord/tenant cases before the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Attorney Mayo is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and Maryland.

Attorney Mayo retired as a member of the Senior Executive Service from the U.S. Government, having worked for several Federal government agencies during his career. He was last appointed to the Office of Inspector General of an Executive Department where he had overall responsibility for all criminal, civil, and administrative investigations involving the Department’ programs and operations. Following retirement from the Federal government, attorney Mayo served as adjunct professor of criminal law at Virginia Union University; prosecuting attorney in the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office; and has been in the private practice of law since 2010.

He currently resides in Prince George’s County with his wife Blanche.
